Policies and Advice

A few tidbits so you know what to expect.

Cancellation Policy

We don't usually sail in the rain, gale force winds, or in "no wind" conditions.  If the weather looks questionable, we will call you the morning of your charter to appraise you of the conditions.  We want your experience to be memorable because it was fun and not for any other reason.  In times of question, the captain will make a final decision not later than two hours prior to your scheduled charter.  Click here for current weather conditions in Seabrook.

If we cancel your charter due to weather and and cannot reschedule, we refund 50% of your deposit.  If we cancel your charter for non-weather related reasons and cannot reschedule, we will refund your total deposit.  If you must cancel for any reason and cannot reschedule, we will refund your deposit according to the following policy:

If your cancellation is 14 days prior to your scheduled charter, we will refund 100% of your deposit.  In circumstances of less than two weeks notice, deposit refunds will be at the captains discretion.

Alcohol Policy

For obvious reasons, we don't encourage anyone to become intoxicated while we are underway.  We serve complementary rum punch or margaritas upon getting underway and wine with dinner.  On request, we offer delicious locally produced wines from the Frascone Winery (near historic Anahuac) or Devine Wine in Kemah with dinner.  If you prefer to bring your own alcohol, you are welcome to do so and we will serve mixers.

Children

We are child-friendly. We like kids and they like us.  As a family business, we keep an array of child-sized life jackets onboard.  In our experience, newborns to toddlers tend to sleep like babies under sail.  Very young children, in the 3-5 age range can be a bit of a distraction over a 4 hour charter and require more parental attention.  Young kids, in the 5-13 year old range have a blast on the boat and love the sail.  Adolescents, on the other hand, are often more preoccupied with their peers, computers, or music to really get the most out of a charter.  If we can get them to "disconnect" a little, they have a great time.   All us "older" kids always have a cool time.

Clothing

No shirt, no shoes, no problem.  Dress for the weather and expect it to be cooler on the water.  Layers that can breathe are good.  A windbreaker comes in handy sometimes.  Wear deck shoes or something with a soft rubber sole.  Boat shoes, athletic shoes, and barefoot are usually great.  No high heels or hard soles please.  Bathing suits are just fine.

Smoking

Smoking outdoors is fine.

Gratuity

Your generosity is appreciated if you enjoyed our service.  The captain passes all tips to the chef so feel free to show your appreciation directly.

Customized Charters

We are happy to customize a charter to meet your needs.  Discretion is assured.
